Creepy Caves: Resurgence at Chessington- Review

Creepy Caves: Resurgence is the horror house at Chessington World of Adventures. This year the house operated on the 17-18th October and the 24th October- 1st November. Entrance to the house cost £5 and you had to pre-book your entry.

The Creepy Caves: Resurgence horror experience is advised for those aged 10+. The house is rather intense, similar to those at Alton Towers and Thorpe Park. In our opinion, we would recommend the house to those a bit older than 10. However, if you do take a child aged around 10 in the house then we advise that you ensure that they are aware that the house is designed to be scary and that they will encounter complete darkness, loud noises, strobe lighting and scare actors.

The house itself is extremely well themed and exceeded our expectations. The actors within the house were very good at their roles and certainly caused us to jump on several occasions. The set designs in the house were excellent and we were particularly impressed by the use of electric sparks within the house. At multiple points you arrive at what appears to be a dead end,  until a scare actor opens a door and calls you forward.

We really hope that Creepy Caves: Resurgence returns next year during the Halloween season at Chessington World of Adventures. We are huge fans of walkthrough horror experiences and felt that it was as good as any of the houses we have experienced at other Merlin operated parks. In fact, we were surprised at how intense and scary this house was considering that Chessington is more of a park for younger children, in comparison to Alton Towers and Thorpe Park.
