Cotaland Confirms September 26 Opening for New Austin Theme Park

A new park built into a race track

Cotaland, a new theme park built into the grounds of the Circuit of the Americas race track in Austin, Texas, has confirmed a grand opening date of 26 September 2026.

The park has been in development for roughly five years under COTA chairman Bobby Epstein, who has described the project as combining “theme park thrills, world-class racing, live entertainment and family experiences” in one location — a pitch built around COTA’s existing motorsports identity rather than a conventional IP-driven park.

Two headline coasters

The headline rides are  Circuit Breaker, a Vekoma Tilt Coaster — Cotaland’s version stands roughly 131 feet tall and Palindrome, a Gerstlauer Infinity shuttle coaster.

Rest of the lineup

Beyond the two coasters, Cotaland’s opening lineup includes a log flume (Soggy Logger), a swing ride (Cloud Flyer), a train ride, a Ferris wheel, and karting tied to the circuit’s racing theme — positioning it as a full-day family park rather than a coaster-only attraction.

Cotaland becomes the second new Texas theme park to open in 2026, following Universal Kids Resort in Frisco earlier this year.

Texas is already home to several superb theme parks such as SeaWorld San Antonio, Six Flags Fiesta Texas and Six Flags Over Texas so it will be interesting to see if there is demand in the state for another park. Of course, during race weekends the park will be extremely busy so it will be very interesting to see how the park handles these initial busy weekends.
