Top 5 Rides at Ferrari Land

Ferrari Land opened at PortAventura World in 2017 and cost more than 100 million euros. Located on the Costa Daurada in Catalonia, Spain, this park offers a fun mix of indoor simulators and outdoor attractions. Themed of course to Ferrari cars, Ferrari Land doesn’t have too many attractions to pick from, however what it lacks for in numbers it makes up for in quality.

5. Junior Red Force

Look, don’t judge me. As already mentioned, there really isn’t a lot to choose from, but even with that being said, this still ranks as one of my favourite kids coasters in the world. In all honesty, I’m not the sort of person to cram myself onto kids coasters. While I do of course count coaster credits, when I’m visiting a park I’m not local to, I’d typically opt for rerides on big coasters rather than racking up kiddie creds. That’s not to say I don’t have a certain amount of respect for those who do. Perhaps if i wasn’t such an anxious person i’d be able to get over my shame and collect those darned creds. Anyways, like many theming enthusiasts, I like miniature versions of things: model railways, miniature figures and even attractions like Disneyland’s Storybook Boat Ride. Junior Red Force is sort of like a miniature Red Force. Ok, its layout is nothing like the real Red Force, but its shared track colour and race car carriage, plus the fact it sits just below its parent coaster, make this one of the most adorable kiddie coasters out there. Plus, it’s actually rather fun to ride!

4. Racing Legends

This motion simulator utilises a dome shaped screen to transport guests onto the race track. Passengers experience the adrenaline of riding in an F1 racing car on the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. It’s great to see a non Disney or Universal theme park try their hand at motion simulators!

3. Flying Dreams

This flying theatre attraction allows guests to tour the whole world and experience what it would be like to ride inside a Ferrari GT. Similar to Disney’s Soarin’, this attraction ends in the park you started in. It’s not my favourite flying theatre in the world (Disney still holds that title), but it’s definitely still fun!

2. Thrill Towers

There are two versions of this 55 metre high drop tower. Thrill Towers: Free Fall Tower, which takes riders up slowly before drawing them fast, and Thrill Towers: Bounce-Back Tower, which shoots guests quickly up and down. These towers sit side by side, providing beautiful views of Ferrari LAnd and either PortAventura or the nearby sea depending on where you sit.

1. Red Force

The most impressive attraction at Ferrari Land is undoubtedly Red Force. This 880m long, 112m tall Intamin coaster is both the tallest and fastest, taking riders 0 to 180 km/h in just 5 seconds, in the whole of Europe. It’s top hat shaped track is absolutely exhilarating!
