A third park at Universal Studios Orlando?

In this article we will explore the possibilities of a third park at Universal Studios Orlando becoming a reality.

Universal Studios Orlando have been buying up patches of land around the resort area and I drive over the past few years, since Comcast bought the company. This land amounts to over 600 acres of undeveloped space and is separated into roughly three different areas. It has been rumoured for a few years now that Universal have plans to build a new park/parks on these areas of land. However, no official announcements have been made by Universal.

A recent news article in the Orlando Business Journal stated that Universal have settled a lawsuit with Georgia developer Stan Thomas. This lawsuit may have been one of the reasons why no official announcements have been made yet. Now that this lawsuit is settled, it feels that we could be one step closer to an official announcement. The article did not go into much detail regarding the lawsuit, but it did state that Universals attorney said that these areas of land could be used for “two large theme parks”.

Recent rumours online suggest that Universal now plan to build Nintendo Land in their third gate, opposed to their original plans to build Nintendo land in the Universal Studios Park (in the place of Fievel’s playland, animal actors, the Barney show and Curios George’s water play area).

Further rumours also suggest that other areas in the park would be based on Lord of the Rings, DreamWorks and Harry Potter (Ministry of Magic).
