1. New coaster coming to Six Flags Magic Mountain in 2022

Six Flags Magic Mountain announced plans this week for Wonder Woman Flight of Courage. This coaster will become the tallest and longest single rail coaster in the world standing over 13 stories tall and more than 3300 ft in length. The coaster will reach a top speed of 58mph. This single rail “Raptor Track” coaster from Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC) will become the third coaster of its type at a Six Flags park. 

2. Firehouse Subs opens at Universal Studios Hollywood

A new food location on CityWalk at Universal Studios Hollywood, Firehouse Subs, has opened. This dining location will be open daily and offer both dine-in and to-go food options. 

3. Universal Studios Japan Parade to feature Pokemon 

Universal Studios Japan have announced  that the new “No Limit! Parade” coming in 2022 will feature Pokemon characters. The parade is set to debut in Spring 2022 and will feature characters from Pokemon, Nintendo, Minions, Snoopy, Hello Kitty, Sesame Street and Sing. 

4. Disney World 2021 park hours now posted through to the end of the year

Park hours had previously been announced up to December 27th. This week Disney World announced park hours from December 28th to December 31st and it’s great news for those wanting to celebrate New Year’s Eve at the parks. Park hours for those dates are as follows;

Magic Kingdom– 9am to 9pm on December 28 and 29. 9am to midnight on December 30 and 31. 

EPCOT– 11am to 10pm on December 28, 29 and 30. 11am to midnight on December 31. 

Hollywood Studios– 9am to 9pm on December 28,29 and 30. 9am to midnight on December 31. 

Animal Kingdom– 9am to 7pm on December 28,29,30 and 31. 

5. Saudi Arabia to build theme park on old oil rig

Saudi Arabia has announced that it plans to open a theme park on an old oil rig in 2025. The theme park is part of the kingdom’s Vision 2030 strategy. The oil rig is set to be converted into a 150,000 square-metre resort. Access to the park will be by either helicopter or boat. The project will be funded by the country’s sovereign wealth fund.
