Top 5 Rides at Paultons Park

Paultons Park is a family theme park located in the New Forest National Park in England, near the coastal city of Southampton. The park has received a large number of new additions in recent years such as Tornado Springs and the Lost Kingdom. The park mainly caters for families with young children but there is enough for older guests these days that it’s certainly worth a visit. For those like us (adults), here’s what we think are the best attractions at Paultons Park.

5. Raging River Ride Log Flume

Although lacking in any theming, this log flume has two drops, with the highest at 11 metres, making it a thrilling and somewhat unexpected attraction at Paultons Park. It’s definitely  worth riding, although be warned, you do get wet!

4. Cyclonator

Cyclonator is a giant  Zamperla gyro swing, swinging guests 25 metres into the air. Themed as a machine supposedly there to harvest the crops of Tornado Swings, this ride opened at the start of the 2021 season. It’s arguably one of the best flat rides in the UK.

3.  Cobra

This Gerstlauer Bobsled roller coaster is the only one of its kind in the UK.  Featuring thrilling drops, exhilarating spirals, amazing turns and breath-taking ‘camel humps’, this roller coaster isn’t one to miss!

2. Flight of the Pterosaur

A relatively new addition to the park, this Vekoma family inverted coaster opened in 2016. This coaster takes guests at speeds of over 30mph across the prehistoric landscape of the park’s Lost Kingdom area. If you look down, you’ll spot dinosaur figures hidden amongst the rock work.

1. Storm Chaser

The newest roller coaster at Paultons Park, this Mack spinning coaster opened along with the rest of the Tornado Springs area in 2021. The coaster has a maximum height of 19.5 metres and a top speed of 59.4km/h. This coaster is an exact clone of Sierra Sidewinder at Knott’s Berry Farm in California. We think Storm Chaser is the perfect addition to Paultons Park as it offers enough thrills to excite older children but is still suitable for younger guests aged 4 and over.

Paultons Park is certainly a sort of hidden gem within the UK’s theme park line up. If you’ve had the chance to visit, what are your favourite rides at Paultons Park?
