Top 3 New Attractions Coming To Orlando In 2018

There is a variety of new attraction set to open and in this article we discuss the top 3 attractions opening in Orlando in 2018. 

Toy story land

This new 11 acre land themed to the world of Pixar’s Toy story will open in Orlando in 2018 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. No date has been confirmed by Disney but rumours suggest that this land will open during memorial weekend.This land will have two two new attractions and a new restaurant.

The major attraction is the Slinky Dog Dash coaster. Guests will sit in carriages designed to look like Slinky Dog as they weave in and out of an area decorated with oversized Christmas lights and famous characters from the films. The other attraction is the Alien Swirling Saucer. This attraction, themed to the popular Green Alien characters, will deploy a similar ride system to Maters Junkyard Jamboree in Cars land at Disney’s California Adventure. A giant claw will hang from the ceiling and the ride will have an impressive new soundtrack and light package.

Toy story mania will have a new entrance when this land opens. The entrance will be on the opposite side of the building in comparison to where it currently is. This change allows guests to be able to enter and exit Toy story mania from inside Toy Story land.

Toward the back of the land will be restrooms and a brand new counter service restaurant. The new restaurant called Woody’s Lunch Box will be sponsored by Mini Babybel. The food served at this restaurant will be “ classic American-fare, old-fashioned floats and other Toy Story- themed specialities”. Further down the line, the back of this land will also act as an entrance into Star Wars land.

Sea world Infinity falls

Set to open sometime in 2018, this brand new raft ride will hold the record for the largest drop for this type of attraction. This drop will be 40 feet high. Rafts will also be lifted up to this drop in an elevator like system. This type of lift system on a raft attraction is very unusual. The ride is designed and built by Intamin and has supposedly been designed so that how wet guests get on the ride can be controlled and altered depending on the weather. The ride will be set in a new area of the park themed to the rainforest. This new area will also have some brand new animal exhibits including a Sloth exhibit.

Fast and Furious- Supercharged

This new ride based on the popular film franchise Fast and Furious will open in Orlando in 2018. The ride will use a similar system to the King Kong attraction at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. The ride will also take elements from the Fast and Furious section of the backlot tour at Universal Studios Hollywood. The attraction will also deploy the same queueless system used on Jimmy Fallon:Escape through New York. The Fast and Furious ride has replaced the Disaster! attraction that closed in September, 2015. This attraction is much larger than the old Disaster! attraction as it will also take part in new buildings that have been built behind Disaster! The construction of these new buildings required to house this attraction are the reason why the Beetlejuice show was removed.
