The Conjuring House at Parque Warner Madrid: Horror Review

The Conjuring House at Parque Warner is officially named ‘Expedientes Warren – The Conjuring Universe Pasadena Del Terror’.

The experience operates all year round and costs an additional €5.00 on top of park admission. Located in the Old West Territory area of the park, this horror maze is based off of the entirety of The Conjuring cinematic universe. The maze takes the most iconic and terrifying sequences from these films.

As you enter the building, tickets can be purchased at the door unless you have already obtained one online. Inside, you queue past the famous Annabelle doll, enclosed in a display case with a warning as she is in the films. On the other side of the room is a Raggedy Ann doll, similar to the real doll that inspired the story of Annabelle. Posters from the films also line the walls, preparing you for what you are about to encounter inside the haunted house.

The Conjuring house opens up with another encounter with the doll Annabelle, before taking you into the haunted farmhouse from the first film in the series. Here, you come face to space with the spirit that haunts the house and witness the possessed mother’s exorcism. The Nun, who eventually received their own spin off film, is next in the series of terrors you will meet. Following this, you arrive in Enfield to experience the horrors of The Conjuring 2. The horrors continue, as you come face to face with The Nun again for some final scares.

The effects within this haunted house are very impressive and we would really struggle to fault it! The sets and costumes are brilliant and look exactly as they appear within the movies. As for scares, this maze certainly delivers! Guests go through in their small groups, making it a far more intense experience than any haunted house that employs the conga line method.

As a frequent visitor of Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights, this series has always been on my wish list for the event. Seemingly due to legal complications, this has never been able to become a reality. However, it’s safe to say that my cravings to experience this property within a haunted house has been satisfied. Although, as a big fan of these films and now their use within a haunted house, I wouldn‘t mind seeing another successful take on it!
