Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s new rollercoaster Icon is set to open on May 25th.
Icon has cost Blackpool Pleasure Beach roughly £16mlion and the ride has been manufactured by Mack Rides. The rollercoaster itself is a multi-launch coaster similar to the rollercoaster Helix at Liseberg in Sweden.
Icon at Blackpool Pleasure Beach will be the first double launch coaster to be built in the UK. The ride will utilise a magnetic launch system and will have a maximum height of 88.5 feet and a top speed of 53mph.
This attraction will be the sixth steel rollercoaster at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Icon set to become one of the major rollercoasters in the UK and Europe for thrill seekers when it opens later this year.
Blackpool Pleasure Beach already has a fantastic collection of coasters. However, many of the parks best coasters are wooden. Furthermore, the park definitely lacks a modern, comfortable steel coaster. Therefore, Icon seems like it’s going to be the perfect addition to the park. With how modern this coaster looks, it will perfectly compliment the parks older, more classic amusement park attractions.
We are super excited about this park and cannot wait until it opens.
