Harry Potter is a franchise that at this point feels untouchable. No matter how people involved with the franchise fall out of favour or the quality of the books and films themselves get retrospectively called into question, the Harry Potter fan base remains unwavering. For Universal this is both good and evidently well known information. At this point in time, The Wizarding World has a land in all but Universal Studios Singapore. It’s hard to picture a time where the Universal parks weren’t synonymous with the boy who lived. But, of course, this wasn’t always the case. In fact, there was a time where a certain other theme park giant, or should I say mouse, could have ended up becoming the home of Harry Potter. With the newly opened The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Ministry of Magic, at Universal’s new Epic Universe Park, I thought now would be the perfect time to trace the theme park history of this giant franchise.
